GEMS International School Somabay (GISS) welcomed families to its second Open Day on Saturday, May 31, marking an exciting milestone as the event took place for the first time on its completed campus. With two fully attended sessions and strong community interest, prospective families experienced the school’s distinctive educational model.
Visitors joined guided campus tours and interactive learning activities, offering a first-hand look at GISS’s inquiry-driven, experiential approach. Presentations by Head of School Narmien Deeb and EEP’s Group VP Education, Middle East & Africa, David Pontich, outlined the school’s vision for academic excellence and holistic student development.
The occasion coincided with GISS’s sponsorship of the 2025 Somabay Endurance Festival, held from May 29–31. A highlight was the GISS 1K Kids’ Race, which brought together children and families for a morning of fitness and community spirit.
As GISS prepares to open its doors for the first academic year, these events demonstrate the vibrant community it seeks to build, the students it aims to empower, and the journey of lifelong learning now underway.
