Building an Entrepreneurial Mindset at WILS: How WILS Empowers Young Founders

At Westview International Language School, entrepreneurship is not treated as an extracurricular activity or an abstract concept reserved for adulthood. It is a mindset we intentionally cultivate from an early age. Our goal is simple yet ambitious: to empower students to think independently, solve real problems, and confidently turn ideas into action.

Over the past two years, this vision has translated into remarkable outcomes. WILS students have competed in several prestigious global competitions, including Codeavour and the Harvard University Science Olympiad. These experiences pushed them beyond textbooks and classrooms, challenging them to innovate, collaborate, and perform under real-world pressure. Most notably, our students did not merely participate; they qualified to advance to higher levels, representing WILS on international stages in Dubai and Qatar. These milestones reflect both their capability and their readiness to engage with the world beyond local boundaries.

A key pillar in preparing our students for such platforms is our status as a licensed TED-Ed School. Through TED-Ed, students learn how to research ideas deeply, shape them thoughtfully, and communicate them powerfully. Standing on a global stage requires more than knowledge; it requires confidence, clarity, and purpose. TED-Ed equips our students with the skills to present ideas that matter, whether in competitions, conferences, or future entrepreneurial ventures.

What excites me most is seeing this mindset move from theory to practice. This year, a group of WILS students launched their first real-world business project. They developed the concept, planned the operations, and brought it to life with remarkable maturity. Their initiative did not go unnoticed; the project gained attention and support from local celebrities, offering our students early exposure to authentic market validation and mentorship.

At WILS, we are not simply preparing students for exams or university applications. We are preparing them to create, to lead, and to contribute meaningfully to the world. Watching our students evolve into young founders, innovators, and confident voices reaffirms our belief that when education is intentional, the impact can be extraordinary.
