EEP Schools Excel at IgnitED Competition 2025, Showcasing Innovation and Impact

May 3, 2025

Students from across Egypt Education Platform (EEP) schools, GEMS International School Cairo (GISC), GEMS British International School Madinaty (GEMS BISM), Scholars International Language School (SILS), and Westview International Language School (WILS) achieved remarkable success at the IgnitED Competition, held at Nile University. Competing among more than 50 teams from schools nationwide, EEP students stood out for their innovation, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities in one of Egypt’s premier student innovation challenges.

A standout moment of the event came from GISC’s MYP students, who secured 1st place in the Renewable Energy Competition. Their forward-thinking solar panel business model not only earned them the top prize but also a university-wide scholarship for all GISC students to Nile University. The team was further recognized with 800,000 EGP in investment tokens and the prestigious title of “Most Project Likely to Trend.” Their achievement will also be highlighted in a feature on the popular Lamis El-Hadidi TV show.

Students from SILS made a strong impression with their project Next Era Robotic, a sustainability-focused robot designed to tackle environmental challenges. Their technical innovation and thoughtful design won them the Best Judging Award, recognizing both the project’s impact and execution. Meanwhile, WILS students took home the Best Prototype Award for Green Shift Solutions, a comprehensive application that provides user-friendly solutions to renewable energy challenges.

Adding to the celebration, GEMS BISM students were awarded Best Team for their cutting-edge robotics project, further emphasizing the strength of collaborative, interdisciplinary learning across EEP schools.

By cultivating a culture of curiosity, innovation, and resilience, EEP continues to empower students to transform ideas into meaningful, real-world solutions and lead with purpose in an ever-evolving world.
