Egypt Education Platform (EEP) successfully concluded GEMUN 2024: The Catalyst, held from December 12th to 14th at GEMS The British School Al Rehab (GEMS TBS). The three-
day event served as a distinguished forum, bringing together students from across Cairo to engage in critical discussions and develop the skills necessary to become informed and proactive global citizens.
The conference welcomed participants from EEP schools, including GEMS The British School Al Rehab (GEMS TBS), GEMS British International School Madinaty (GEMS BISM), GEMS International School Cairo (GISC), Madinaty Language School (MLS), Hayah International Academy, and Madinaty Integrated Language Schools (MILS). Joining them were students from a diverse array of esteemed schools outside the EEP network, such as the Canadian International School of Egypt, Ecole Oasis Internationale, St. Fatima, Cairo English School, Europa-Schule Kairo, Egypt British International School, Malvern College International, Deutsche Schule Der Borromarinnen, Lycée International Balzac, Nermien Ismail School, and Lycée Concordia.
Delegates addressed a range of pressing global issues, including foreign intervention in civil wars, media censorship, international conflicts over space resources, and the implications of foreign military intervention in developing countries. These sessions challenged participants to propose innovative solutions, deepening their understanding of global complexities while honing their public speaking, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
The event highlighted EEP’s ongoing commitment to nurturing students as future leaders, empowering them to think critically, collaborate effectively, and inspire meaningful change within their communities and beyond.
