The first edition of the EEP Innova8 Competition marked a major milestone in educational innovation, bringing together talented students from EEP schools and Spark Education Platform (SEP) schools for an exciting robotics and coding challenge. Held on February 19 at the Egyptian Space Agency, the event provided young innovators with a unique opportunity to apply their skills to real-world challenges.
The competition was graced by Prof. Dr. Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency and Chair of the 67th Session of UN COPUOS, who delivered an inspiring speech on Egypt’s space exploration breakthroughs. Additionally, Atif Hussain, Director of IT at New Cairo British International School (NCBIS), shared insights on how historical inventions have influenced modern robotics and technology.
Students showcased their ingenuity by designing smart cities, eco-friendly transportation systems, and disaster response robots, blending technology with practical solutions. Their projects were evaluated based on four key criteria by a distinguished panel of judges from EEP, including Sherif Nabawy, EdTech and Innovation Director; Hebba Haroun, EdTech Innovation and Curriculum Specialist; and Alia El Shishiny, Prime National Schools Academic Director.
The EEP Innova8 Competition reaffirmed EEP’s commitment to digital literacy, problem-solving, and STEM education, equipping students with future-ready skills to become pioneers of change in an evolving world.
